Vocalist | Educator | Storyteller
a kin of Tainui, Ngāti Wairere, Ngāti Kahungunu, and the Rose & McKenzie lot, Lisa is a multidisciplinary artist and educator whose work exists at the intersection of sound, music composition and human connection. With years of formal training in Performing Arts and as a qualified N.L.P. Trainer coach, Lisa has spent over two decades exploring how the human voice serves as a catalyst for both artistic expression and emotional restoration.
In her practice, she utilizes Somatic singing for well being and Ngā Waikupuiti, which is a Te reo maaori, made up version of SOLFEGGIO as her musical measure. It has wildly transformed her improvisational singing skills, her ability to read and pronounce te reo maaori with more accuracy and speed up her ear training. Whether performing in the halls of Te Matatiki Toi Ora The Arts Centre of Õtautahi, or facilitating vocal workshops in small towns around the motu her approach is warm and inclusive.
Lisa’s artistry is rooted in the values of Joy, Connection, and Nature.
